SuperPantry
One of NYC's largest emergency food pantries. Open five days a week, clients choose their own fresh produce, whole grains, lean proteins, and clothing at no cost — supermarket-style.
Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn • Est. 1999
The Campaign Against Hunger has served New Yorkers for over 25 years — feeding families, growing urban farms, developing careers, and building lasting food security across Brooklyn and Queens.
Our Mission
Our mission is to empower our neighbors to lead healthier, more productive, and self-sufficient lives by increasing access to safe, nutritious food and related resources.
"TCAH's beginnings were undeniably modest—Dr. Melony Samuels responded to the needs of one single mother struggling to feed her four children. She would later serve 50 families in a church basement in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn."
Fast forward 25 years and TCAH is one of NYC's food security champions, serving over 1 million New Yorkers and providing 35 million nutritious meals since the onset of the pandemic. We acknowledge that hunger and poverty are complex problems. Instead of one-size-fits-all solutions, we offer interconnected programs that address the root causes of poverty.

NY State Farm Partners
TCAH is leveraging a USDA Department of Agriculture & Markets grant to spotlight farmers' crucial roles in strengthening New York's food supply chain. As part of the NY Food for New York Families Program, we support Black and Veteran farmers who face systemic barriers while practicing sustainable agriculture.
Founded in 1997 by David Haughton. Expanded from 30 to 90 acres, specializing in fruits, vegetables, and eggs. Blending Jamaican farming roots with sustainable practices.
Led by Nadia and Omowale, this farm champions sustainable agriculture and social justice through organic produce and principles of equity and community healing.
Rafael Aponte, an Afro-Puerto Rican urban agriculture graduate, transformed 30 acres in Freeville into a farm dedicated to food justice and community education.
Wil, a Black farmer with 40+ years of experience, runs this operation with his Marine veteran brother Michael, also serving the Rochester Public Market.
A diverse collective of farmers committed to sustainable, community-centered agriculture and equitable food access across New York State.
Part of our historically disadvantaged farmer network, contributing to a fairer and more robust local food ecosystem rooted in traditional knowledge and innovation.
